Some days I hate users

lensmanand today is certainly one of them....
Okay so as a new user you were hired in the middle of a project that was nearing compleation, but it turns out that you don't know the system you were hired to run, and it's written in a language you don't know, so you want to change to a completely customized system, and ask for a "developement environment" to re-write everythig in. (I as the system adminsitrator unfortunately am more swamped with more important changes that come up on production systems, and I've already spent a good deal more time than I have to allocate to getting the prodcution enviroment you were hired for working. Additinally I catch the bug that has been going around and I don't get to starting to setup the development environment as fast as you like, and when I do it turns out that it doesn't appear to even WORK in conjuction with what has already been installed, and I am in the middle of trying to diagnose that when you go behind my back and ask to take over administration.
Well fine.... Here are the damn passwords and have fun, but I don't think I'll mention the fact that what you want to do won't work as is. I hope you undersand how to install and configure the software. Hmm I wonder if he'll even think to ask for all the correct software, or if he has any real clue how to make the system secure.
Days like this make me really want to consider a change in jobs....
But for that I'd need to figure out what I really want to do when I grow up... :-/ (Because I don't suppose there are very many places that want to pay for me to surf the web, and post on LJ :-)
