Well, I'm baaack.......... :-)

Good god, There is a LOT of mail to go through......

Well Now for the meat of my post... PENSIC XXX

Picked up the rental car Thurdsay afternoon on the 9th got a roof luggage carrier. (That was a ROYAL Bitch to install in the heat thursday night. So I didn't finish it till Friday, in the rain)
Packed up our gear Friday night, and that took a lot longer than panned for since I had to finnish installing the luggage carrier. Got to B's house by 10 PM loaded her stuff and got on the road.

We drove for 4.5 hours and started to look for a place to stay for the night, but didn't find anything untill 3:30AM. Slept till 9am got up and we all showered and dressed and got breakfast by 11, and were back on the road at noon.
We pull into Pennsic Registration waiting line by 5:30 and sit waiting for an hour to pull up and finally get our site tags.

Drive around and Drop B off with the group she is camping with and A and I drive down to the other side for our camping spot

ok work is starting to intrude, so I'll have to finish this after lunch

Well We get the tent setup but its getting late so I decide to spik the rope bad for the first night and just put the air mattress on the ground. (This is the first year I've used them but the AreoMattress "bed in a minute" that you see on those TV commercials is great. [Just becareful of which one you get one has a rechargeable motor, the other requires and electrical socket. B and another pair of friends ended up buying the latter by mistake])

Well the whole 2way FRS radio idea failed. They worked great in Fla., but I guess the terrain was too rugged for them in Pa. I could only get reception through about the halfway point at Pennsic. B hated them cause she was only able to rech me once.

There were approx 13,000 (slightly less) people there this year, and my overall impression is that it's starting to get a little TOO big. They had more haywagon routes to cover with the same number of waggons, so it meant you hardly ever saw them.

The EMS food tent was less than half its usual size. They needed more garbadge pails through out the vendor areas. I'm still annoyed by the "Classic swimming hole" (more like the "classic wading pool") although it is still very cold and refreshing.

From what I saw of B's camp up on the top of the hill, that looked like a nice place to stay. but don't drive up there in anything less than a jeep.

Some of the camp gates got a new facelift this year. Which was nice to see. The parties were all good. At the Hell party A, V, & Dee were all corseted up and at one point left the poor guy playing Satan speechless. :-) Arm in arm facing the poor guy with their busts straining against the fabric, they said "We're the burmuda tri-angle of red-heads... Care to get lost inside..." The reaction was great.... "Um, ah, Um, I've got some paperwork to finish over there...", and he turned and nearly ran. :-)

I may take next year off and do something different, or not. It depends on what I'm feeling like come next year.
