Star Wars Extended DVD's
Sep. 26th, 2004 04:22 pmSo I've finally had the chance to sit down and watch the newest releases of the original three Star Wars movies....
Overall not bad.... They REALLY DID AN AMAZING JOB of cleaning them up.... (I saw parts of the first two movies while waiting for the midnight sale on a wide screen HD tv, The difference is so increadibly noticeable. Things had an almost 3D effect to them on that screen, but even on a regular tv things are still clearer).
The minor edits change the feel slightly in places... But those have all been discussed to death on various SW fan boards for a while now... The final change of the younger Anakin joining the ghostly fellowship with Ben and Yoda.... I don't know that kinda seems like it cuts away at the elder Anakin's redemtion, after loosing his struggle for so long with his dark side, to finally win in the end and help destroy Palpatine, and then reverted to his younger self as if the interveining years and struggle were simply wiped away....
But it fits in with what Ben said about "the good man I knew as Anakin died when he succumed to the dark side"....
I'm a little disapointed with the "bonus features" disk.... It just seems so standardized, even the slight preview of Eps III... To me it felt like none of it grabs your attention, or gives you anything new...
