Update on B's Mom

B has been down in NYC for a week now and it's starting to wear thin....

She's getting really frazzeled over what to do with all her mom's paperwork...
We NEED to find an Estate Lawyer/Financial Planner type of person, who knows the ins and outs of New York regulations for all her mom's accounts, and what needs to be done with the property etc...

If you know of someone like that let us know, because right now B doesn't even know what questions to ask or where to start looking....

B is worried that her mom is starving herself because she just doesn't want to eat anything...

The doctors are worried about her kidneys because she isn't drinking enough and the additional strain the medications are putting on them...

My aunt is a well known Elder Law Attny in Arlington VA and a very active member of NAELA - they set the standards for Elder Law including dealing with Estates, Living Wills, Advanced directives etc etc. She'd be recommending you find someone from the NAELA site.

I just took a look at their site and was able to do a search that puts over 50 in her area.... I guess I'll check out soe of their recomended reding so we can start to have an idea of what to be asking....

I will poke K, but I think our only lawyer friend is only barred in New England (NH, MA, ME).
