According to CNN U.S. troops watched weapons-site looting

Why the FUCK were they trying to guard this shit at all.....

If they didn't have enough people to guard it from raiders, then they should have BLOWN THE CRAP UP.... I mean that just makes sence... They were EXPLOSIVES right... They're meant to go BOOM, In fact you generally have to be careful so that it doesn't acidentally go BOOM.....

What stupid CO would give an order to guard crap with out then putting enough forces in place to do that job correctly, and if they couldn't do the job correctly then next logical thing is to deny the use of this crap to enemy forces.....

I know I'm not in the military and not there, so this is only arm-chair quarterbacking... But it's the only thing that makes sence to me....

You don't blow up the munitions depot when you are trying to find incriminating evidence.

You give orders to guard the place with whatever forces you have if your orders are to guard the place. If you have insufficient troops to do the job then you pray that nothing happens and wish you had sufficient troops to do the job. You do not give orders to destroy everything contrary to your operational orders because if you did you would be disciplined and possibly court martialed.

I'd agree with you except that this happened over several weeks in April and May....

They already identified that it wasn't WMD, which is what they were looking for, so blowing it up doesn't conflict with operational orders... Because if it had contained WMD then it would have been all over the news with the Shrub pointing at it saying "See I was right to go in there..."

But we don't know what the specific Op Orders were, That's why I was complaining about what kind of CO would give such orders, and not follow up with what was needed to do what he said to (besides the Commander in Chief, that is)....

Lack of manpower.

But then, the entire invasion was botched for that reason.

The real question here is WHY did the Adminidtration try to lie about it and claim that American Forces weren't there when it was robbed and try to claim it happened BEFORE the war started?

Answer of course - if you told the American people the truth, you might not get re-elected. Lie and wait until afterwards, then you've got 4 years for them to forget about it.
