Yes true. But then, if Kerry DOES have the election, how much visibility will it really have?

Think Bush and Co. will allow it?

THAT would guarantee a legal nightmare.

And imagine what the backlash would be among the conservatives who elected him . . . Kerry losing the popular vote, but getting the Electoral College? Think DEMs were pissed when it happened four years ago?

Dems are peace loving people for the most part. Some of them who are most upset with this election are talking about leaving. I will not judge them. But the republican people of Amerika will not stand for this election coming down like that . . . if Kerry WERE to come up as Elected, and tried to be inaugurated, THEN I predict a civil war.

Well, on the bright side: It'd bring the troops home.... (But I don't think it would come to that)....

We didn't go that crazy when Shurb was appointed over a ballot screw up.... But I do think it would definitely bring about election reform...

Look at what I said again: the people who felt robbed last time are those least likely to take up armed struggle. Many of them abhor violence for ANY reason.

If Kerry ends up trying to be inaugurated, the gun toting right will be up in arms. And right now, the military is on Bush's side.

That statement almost sounds redundant... :-) But I think that the only memebers of that group who would try something like that would mostly be the same ones who would sit in a bunker on "thier" patch of land and try and let the commie gov'ment try and take them...

And right now, the military is on Bush's side. yeah, but I don't think that the generals in today's military would support an armed rebellion... and the southern states have too much to lose (Mostly in the form on monetary aid) if they tried to sesceed again....

And I would NOT be surprised at an assasination attempt on Kerry if the vote comes out his way.

The generals don't NEED to support an armed rebellion. All they have to do is be told that Kerry is violating the law, and they get this beaten into them just like half the country believes Saddam had nukes etc.

Then they PREVENT the democratic process from moving on. Basically, the military would prop Bush up.

Then, the right's biggest fear SHOULD occur: UN sponsored invasion of the US, to restore a constitutional republic.

Okay an assasination attempt I can believe... This would be done by the same group who sponsored the guys at grassy knoll....

But the minute that is tried (and it is not garenteed to succeed) then Kerry is placed in the same light as JFK, and he gets the support and backing of most of the US, including the military types... Because we've all had THAT legend drilled into us too... On the flip side if it were to occur, then John Edward gets put into power.... But either way Shrub looses on that one...

Now If Shrub's people just try to tell the military that what Kerry is doing is illeagal, then you have a coup de ta attempt because unless martial law is declared the military doesn't have the right to act inside the borders of the US. (With the exception of federal land, bases etc...) He'd have to get the FBI, or Fed marshals to try and do something for him, but then it goes to into the court system, and thats all VERY public... They might not be able to pull his bacon out of the fire a second time and maintain their credability....

If Martial law were declared... that suspends things, and you're getting into legal waters that I'm not farmiliar with but I don't think the right would go for that situation.... Unless of course the Martial law was declared because of a "terrorist act".... (Which I suppose could be manufactured by those same grassy knoll guys....)

How much visibility? Depends on how fast CNN carries it :).

Would Bush 2 stand for it? No. There'd be a legal tussle over it. Thing is, unlike Florida, Ohio is doing what it has been doing for 40 years, so it is doubtful to me that it would go past the Ohio courts, if it gets that far at all.

My real, genuine, big concern is over Rehnquist. Four more years of Bush 2 I can stand. 40+ years of a Bush 2 cronie as a sitting Justice, that would be very, very bad.
