So as I was reading the news this morning I saw this bit:

US to form quake aid coalition

President George W Bush says the US will form an international coalition to lead aid efforts for victims of the quake disaster.

and I'm sorry, but I find this man so hard to take seriously that the first thought in my head upon reading this was was And don't forget Poland..., and second was I wonder what the catchy name they'll try to come up with for this will be Coalition of the Helpfull..., Coalition of the Determined... ???

I just can't help the feeling that somebody in his administration is trying to find the "right way to politicize" this growing tragedy...

It makes sense

After all, if any of that money was used in a way GW wouldn't approve of, he has no veto power unless he's leading a "coalition" where no-one gets their say but Dubya. So, he gets to mold more foreigners.
Look to the Gulf War as inspiration.
Of course, for the other countries, this is almost a Godsend- if GW bungles things (and he will- see how quickly he withdrew troops, and aid, from Afghanistan once he set his sights on Iraq- and look how well they're struggling now,) the other countries/politicians have a convenient scapegoat.
