The Final Frontier....
Mar. 10th, 2005 08:56 amTime is flying far too fast these days....
When last we left our intrepid hero he was heading off for a much needed massage...
Only to be foiled by the traffic snarls that exist between one end of cambridge and the other....
That left me in a rather pissy mood so I bailed and went home, only to geek out on the internet....
I finished much more of the documentation for getting things running for one of the systems I'm trying to build.
But along the way I also happened onto some really cool satelite tracking software, (because every geek needs to know where his GPS signal is comming from, or what weather/comunications satelites are overhead, or even is the ISS will soon be in visable range... Don't they) :-)
This small bit of geek-gasm led to even more searching for cool space related visualization software. Until I came upon the the ultimate cool bit of free rendering software.... Celestia... Wow, Just Wow!!! Depending on your system the graphics are just increadable. the interface is easy to use (okay there are some things I'd like to change to make things easier to find, the universe is a big place.) and its extensable with an entire Motherload of add-ons (Including Star trek, Star Wars, B5, and Space 1999 locations and ships...)
