It's spring and the yard work has commenced.

So this years big projects have been that we have a new deck built to go under the gazeebo from last year.

B also picked up new furniture at the last flower show, unfortunately they were not sealed as well as the vendor led us to believe, so the pictures here are mostly close ups we're sending them to get them to come out and repair it...

Lastly B mentioned the work she did redoing one of the garden beds... You can also see where the new stairs are going in to the porch..

there's a kitty in the middle of your flowerbed!! :) Every cat who has ever helped me garden loved freshly turned earth - either to roll around in, dig in, or simply flop over the spot I was trying to dig (the outdoor equivalent of laying on top of the newspaper.) The bed and path look really awesome. I know someone got sore hauling all that rock! But I think it was worth it: the end result is tidy, but still casual. Plant some Nepeta for the kitty :)

Yeah, that's "Twiglet" She's the feral cat that came with the house and B adopted two of her kittens and had her fixed... :-) She now has 4 cat houses hidden throughout the yard (Just so she can be comfortable) and a covered feeding station... This is one pampered cat... :-)

Most of that is dirt fresh from the compost pile behind the garage.

I'm not sure what all B plants... She has so many varied things that may be in there somewhere. :-)

Actually, that's "Tomasina." Twiglet is her daughter, a chip off the old block, who lives inside with us, but is mostly feral too. Tomasina lives outside all year round, doesn't want to be touched by us, but she knows we're her humans: when we're in the yard she'll hang out near us, watching. She sure has me trained to bring her food twice a day. And more if she doesn't like what I put down. She's been here the past 10 or so years. She'll come up on the porch when I'm there as long as I don't try and touch her. Sometimes she eats a bird in the yard. :-< Other times she just sits there and watches them, like Kitty TV.
