RIP Rhiannon

B's favorite cat Rhiannon had to be put to sleep this afternoon. This is the one cat we let sleep with us, and she had had problems breathing and sleeping last night, so B took her to the vet after e-mailing and calling around this morning. They said her heart and lungs were surrounded by fluids, and that they could have possibly prolonged her life, but only with very invasive procedures to drain the fluids, and hat they would just likely build up again due to her age.

Oh, you poor things. My heart goes out to you both at such a rough time. both of us are so terribly upset for you. If there is anything we can do. Would company be a welcome thing, does B. (and you) need quiet to grieve privately? We are here for you, in whatever capacity we can. Our deep love and we will add Rhiannon to our prayers.

Normally I would be looking for that 'Rainbow Bridge' poem, but condolences first. I am sure there are many about who have experienced similar and can be there for you. We lost Poe last December. It all came down to quality of life. It is my hope that beloved pets do find their way to an afterlife that the human types can get to as well. It just now occurs that in that afterlife the crazy cat ladies can be content at last. Hugs to you both.

Aww..poor orange tabby. I lost my orange tabby many years ago, but still miss him.

Really, really sorry to hear this. I remember when we had to put Argent down that I felt like I'd betrayed him somehow. Took me a long time to realise that he'd have thanked me for it if he could. My condolences to you both.
