We finally found out at work why they've yanked our chain about hiring to fill our open positions.....

My dept is beijg desolved and combined with another group....

This will all happen over the next month. Time to clean up the resume.....

now. . . don't go off half-cocked and over-react and jump ship -- that's MY speciality, and see where it gets me? ;-} Hang about and see what it might be like in the new configuration. Might not change your actual day-to-day duties too much, which is what you like about your job anyway. There might be some improvements even, who knows? You have time to jump ship. I'm not saying don't look for something else -- I'm saying see what this ends up actually being before you are sure you can't live with it, maybe even like most of it.

But yeh, I hear ya: it's never a safe feeling to have other people be in control of what happens in your life!
