Back to the grindstone
Jan. 6th, 2003 01:36 pmWell, It was a nice holiday, but it wasn't long enough I want to go back and continue to sleep late.
Got up early today so I could get into work and try to catch up on my e-mal before heading to two meetings. Only to find out when I got here that the meetings had been re-scheduled, and cancled.
Then went to reset a machine in the new security access system only to have my car not start.
(at first I thought it was a bettery issue, but it started when I went to lunch. I must have flooded the engine or something....) I thnk I'll probably take it into the shoip this weekend just to be safe.
X-mas:
Took a 1/2 day off before work so B and I could drive down to CT to visit soime freinds of her mom's
We got started later than planned (as is the usual case, but hey its a time for relaxing) Hit a bunch of traffic on the road. Got there and had a nice dinner. I felt a little out of place being with people I didn't know. but overall it was a good time. The next morning when we woke up had a HUGE breakfast/brunch. The drive home was the "interesting" part. We hit that snow storm just north of Providence on I95 and every thing turned to a crawl. The high speed lane was making 20-25MPH. This is where I fell in love with the 4X4 drive on my truck :-) ( I had never had need to use the 4x4 since I bought it in June. But you can just FEEL the power, and added traction.) {instert Tim Allen's "More Power" grunting here.}
New Years:
I took that entire week off. It was blissful sleeping late and then spending time with B. Okay we didn't accomplish many of the things we wanted to, but it was a very needed rest. We then went up to the grove and rang in the new year with
grovegoddess,
ironfinch, and the Elfazon. The drive up was unexciting (yay 4X4), and it was certainly nice to open it up for highway speeds. (I like getting better than 15MpG) The food was great (as usual). I had less of an alergic reaction than normal. (Of course that could be due to all the rest I was able to get.) Snow, Hot tub, stars, and three naked women. ;-)
