The theme of Arisia 2004 is Freedom. I have yet to come up with a snappy title
How about "The Future of Freedom"?
To which my responce is now:
"The Future of Freedom, and what could happen to it when were not looking".....
"1984, may not have been like '1984', but welcome to 2004"....

links, playing the devil's advocate
Yes, the Patriot act would be a bad thing, I will agree
Second, a tad more grey:
the company says there is a valid way to get the info, why don't the plaintiff ask for it and there would be no need for a lawsuit? to easy?
third:
april fool's jokes are all well and good, if people know the context. think about it. example:
if you walked into a subway on a given day and saw a box taped up in the corner labeled 'explosives' would you freak some? Would you consider that the art student that did this as a class project (put out boxes, took pics, left boxes) should at least have a lesson in manners? hey, he and his buddies knew what it was all about. why was everyone getting so bent out of shape? perspective, or in this case proper reference, is the king of all.
