Heh, Well it's been an interesting day....

Just as I was on my way out the door to the meeting, someone asked If I was going to be at an awards reception this afternoon....

What awards reception? I asked, and when they told me I was like Umm I'm not really dressed for it, but I could try to make it by for a few minutes... Well They were all going to be there with deptmental shirts so she asked if I wanted one...

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, I jumped at the shirt which made me look a lot more presentable a the prox card meeting... :-) I was able to get there and get parked pretty quickly whihc was help full as that bldg is even more confusing on the inside that it appears on the outside. But I still made it there with enough time to spare that I was able too look through what they had to eat from the prior meeting.... :-) (Unfortunately not much I was interested in)

Most of which was policy decsion stuff, and user fears, that I don't have to address, but I was able to contribute and address one mis-conception they had about the system... Yay go me...

They seemed to take a little bit of solice from the fact that the three main systems don't interact, and that it would currently be a manual search process to cull data out of them...

Then I got to walk over to the award reception and get my photo taken with the rest of that Dept... Along with some really good meatballs. :-) I love academia, just about EVERYTHING involves food... :-)

and while I was there I was even able to get a bit of social networking done that moves one of my other projects forward...

Yeah they let me keep it. :-) Not that I wear bright white all that often.. :-) but I figure it'll be something I can keep in the back of my car for last minute meetings etc. :-)
