The rest of the conference went pretty quietly. I had a bunch of fun with our MS Account Manager. She took us out to eat a couple of times and to a couple of bars.
Thursday MS booked all of SeaWorld. My Cow-orkers ended up going to a sports bar.
I hung out with our Account Manager againe on the last day of the Conf before B's plane arrived and we went over to Coranado Island and got some nice pictures of the old Hotel Coranado.

The ferry over also made an unplanned stop over at the naval base which supprised us.

B's plane arrived and we went looking for some late night food and got some REALLY good Skirt steak at one of the island hotels. B and I spent a few days in SanDiego hitting places like LegoLand and SeaWorld. B even tried to go on one of the roller coasters with me.... (She's not a big fan of either hights or speed....)
Then it was the three day drive up the coast on Ca Rt 1. What a beautiful drive for the most part.
What little we saw of LA looked like a dump, but atleast we weren't caught in much traffic.

Monteray, seemed like much more hipe than any beautiful vistas since it's almost entirely taken up my private mansions... Alomst like a strip mall with cliffs behind them and houses on the other side of the road...

We did get a coupld of good pictures along the Pacific Coast Highway, B was thrilled when we stopped and saw nearly a 1000 sea lions reston on a protected beach.

Santa Barbara was pretty and had some really good food.

The next day on the PCH we stopped at a light house and I got some shots off the cliffs and they had what I can only guess was some whale skull.... At first I thought it was just an interesting peice of drift wood...

Then we got the the part of the PCH where it slows to 20 MPH and is this treaturerous nearly never ending set of blind switchbacks with rock slides from above on one side, and a sheer drop to the water and rocks below on the other....

We got into San Fran later than we thought because of the slow going on the PCH, and then there didn't appear to be any sort of welcome center to get local maps on the highway.

We eevntually parked and found one welcome centerthat had closed an hour earlier, but had directions to the other oe over at Peir 39... (Tourist center of SF), We found maps and called a hotel

To be continued.....

A hem. I not only "tried" to get on a roller coaster ride with you, I actually accomplished it. All the way up, over, and to the bottom. The fact that I had my eyes skewered shut while I screamed for mercy to every deity that exists and a few that don't doesn't cancel out the accomplishment! :-)
